Inns en Route is pleased to offer the Paradores chain of hotels, established by the Spanish government in 1928. Many of the eighty-five Paradores are in converted Moorish fortresses, medieval castles, convents and monasteries, old palaces and ancestral mansions – and some are in more modern buildings in desirable and convenient locations. Each has its own restaurant offering regional and traditional cuisine. We are pleased to showcase this group, and will be happy to help you choose the most appropriate accommodation for your needs – whether en route from hotel to hotel or a longer stay at a special Parador. These Paradores complement the specially selected smaller inns and hotels represented on our Inns of Spain website. If you wish to reserve one of the Paradores on our site, please remember that you must do so at least four days prior to your requested reservation date. Also note that generally the Paradores will take full payment in advance and a prepaid voucher will be sent to you. We also represent the Pousadas group, a state-run group of very special hotels in neighbouring Portugal, see Inns of Portugal
