* Toledo Cigarral with views over the city: View PDF
Please note that the Parador is across the river from the old town of Toledo. It is possible to walk along the river bank and over the bridge, or take a taxi to the old town (or drive your car if you have one.) As of September 2009, there is also a bus that goes from the Parador to the old town a couple of times a day at 11a.m., noon and 6 p.m. Located on the Cerro del Emperador by the river Tagus, this Parador offers an incomparable panoramic view of the historic profile of Toledo, with its cathedral, the Alcázar (fortress) and the synagogues. The Parador also has an outdoor pool available to guests in the summer months. From the bedrooms, living rooms, terrace and swimming pool can be seen beautiful views of the Imperial City, while the interior is spacious and interesting. Comfortable furniture, large wood beams, majestic staircases and banisters and Mudejar elements on rugs and tiling are throughout. Typical dishes from Castilla-La Mancha are offered in the restaurant, such as stewed partridge, roast lamb, cheese and honey ice cream, and famous marzipans. Rooms at this Parador include standard double with one or two beds, superior rooms, junior suites, suites; special double (2 beds); basic double; double (two beds) with views, all with full bathrooms, flat screen television, minibar, air conditioning, balcony (in superior rooms), free WIFI, safe. The standard rooms have views to the swimming pool and city. Superior rooms have balcony and views over the river to the city. We found the director and staff at this Parador to be pleasant and particularly helpful - it's a friendly, low-key place.

restaurants in both paradors - especially Cordoba - were exceptional, for both dinner and breakfast. The final bills were over-complicated, difficult to understand and led to a misunderstanding in Cordoba

I would never stay anywhere else during my travels in Europe. It was fantastic and the staff was wonderful. The only issue when we arrived was there was no water. They fixed that by mid-day

The Parador is very modern, clean and the staff efficient and friendly, however the cafeteria prices are unrealistic and too high to attract the average tourist. The restaurant food is outstanding, the staff extremely professional, the terrace location wonderful and I would recomend it as a wonderful experience.

Our book said there would be a bus from the Parador to the town at 11am at back at 6pm, this did not happen! We walked to town, a wonderful walk and we returned by local bus for 1.80e, but more information from the the Parador would have helped. Thank you to the tourist information office.

Beautiful location and an amazing view. cannot comment about the restaurant as we went into Toledo by taxi, approx 8 euro. Not lucky with our choice but that was our faults. Lovely to walk through the old town.

Lost our phone! but apart from that nothing. We only stayed one night travelling through to north spain. Stayed here before and was not disappointed again.

Clean, quiet rooms with marvelous view. Nice breakfast.
Didn't Like:
It's a very large hotel, so no real personal service.

Liked:
The size of the room and the view. The service in the restaurant was extremely pleasant and accommodating.
Didn't Like:
To be honest, I expected more "charm" and "history." No where did the Parador have a description of its former uses and to be frank, had no individual personality. It seemed like the hotels run by the US National Park Service. These hotels are fine, but not really what I am looking for in a historic trip to Spain/Toledo. The settings were not distinctive at all, just functional. I was disappointed in the lack of charm. Also, we were assigned a disabled room without being told or asked.

Only a smal number of rooms with overlooking view
Rating: Very Good
The only 2 defects have been that swimming pool was closed on the first of 2 days of holiday and that at the moment of paying taxes on the first day have been charged 2 times

Only had one night. Room smelt of smoke but nice enough and views were spectacular from cafe and restaurant
Didn't Like:
Smoke smell in room. Food was not hot in restaurant. Too far from town centre

Liked:
The room was nicely appointed. It was above my expectation for cleanliness. The location was excellent for the view but not sightseeing. A typical taxi ride was 10-12 Euro's each way.
Didn't Like:
I called for room service and was transferred 5 times and gave an order before I was told that I could not have room service as it was after 10pm. There was no iron or coffee/tea maker in the room. The terrace wait staff one evening was absolutely horrible. The staff member (an older gentleman) was incredibly rude. Service on the terrace and room posted an additional service charge. The room service food was not to standard for a luxury venue. Room service staff member was exceptional and thoughtful. No breakfast offered. Very little on the terrace menu to enjoy. Coffee was cold every time it was ordered. No evening activities offered.

Delightful hotel but disappointing because building work was underway and the pool was out of use. Also the communal balcony was a problem as the people next door smoked. We particularly asked for no smoking facilities.
Rating: Poor
I was disappointed the room did not have a view of the city.I would have expected advise when I booked to requestone given most rooms did.

Didn't Like:
1. Too far from town. Impractical without a car. 2. Very crowded and noisy bar/cafe area. 3. Significant noise from room overhead. We could hear footsteps, luggage, chairs moving.
