Located in the south of the province of Segovia, the Parador de La Granja has been open for about two years as an hotel and is living proof of the rich architectural legacy of this royal site. The Parador has design-winning interiors, full of art and sculpture and amazing interior views on to zen-like courtyards. It is composed of two buildings and is located in Casa de los Infantes, constructed in the 18th century by Charles III to house Princes Gabriel and Antonio. There is a second building, the Cuartel General de la Guardia de Corps, which is modern and houses a Conference and Convention Centre. The rooms are simple yet elegant, with white linen on the beds, modern marble bathrooms, and some special decorative elements from the original building. The rooms have wifi, minibar, flat screen television, phone and air conditiong - and some of the rooms have marvellous views. The restaurant Puerta de la Reina serves an authentic traditional cuisine and has a young professional staff who add a modern touch to ancient recipes. The Parador has a wonderful spa with modern facilities (pool, showers and relaxation areas, steam rooms, sauna, special treatments, etc), as well as an outdoor swimming pool. There is also a golf simulator and putting green The location is just 55 minutes drive from Madrid. This is a Parador in a special natural setting and is just eleven kilometres from the World Heritage Site of Segovia, in the heart of the Guadarama mountains. We were really impressed with this complex of buildings and with the town of La Granja - a popular spot to visit among Spaniards for its interesting architecture and its importance as a centre for the study of glass. The management and staff at the Parador were exceptionally efficient and helpful, professional yet friendly.

Notes There is a bus from Segovia to La Granja (about 45 minutes). The closest rail station is in Segovia (take the TGV from Madrid) and a taxi can be taken to the Parador. Visit the Glass making school

Cancellation Policy:
A deposit equivalent to the first night's stay will be charged at the time of reserving. The remainder will be charged 30 days prior to the check-in date.
Reservations may be cancelled up to 72 hours before your reservation without penalty (Your deposits will be returned to you). If you cancel less than 72 hours before check-in, or in case of "no-show", the one-night deposit will be retained. If you shorten your stay once you have checked-in, the Parador may impose a penalty of one-nights stay.
