* 15th Century Hospital: View PDF
The Parador sits atop what was once the 15th century San Juan Bautista Hospital and the former 16th century Infantes or grammar school - important learning centres for medical surgery and grammar respectively. The hotel is located in the old town and has been declared a heritage site facing the world heritage site of the town of Guadalupe. The garden, with its secluded swimming pool, is beautiful with Gothic and Mudéjar cloisters. The interiors are peaceful and authentic with antiques and decor that recall its religious origins. In the dining room regional cuisine is served and there is a good winelist. In addition to double rooms with two beds or a queen bed, the hotel also has a room with two beds with a canopy. This is a fascinating place to visit: be sure to see Guadalupe Monastery, the old town and the Jewish Quarter. The Parador de Guadalupe in Caceres is in the region of Villuecas - a great place for birdwatching. Parador guests can enjoy this activity with specialist birdwatching guides. SPECIAL CONDITIONS; Minimum two night stay on weekends from 1 March to 31 October.

Our Feedback
Rating: Excellent
We were given a wonderful room with views and had a lovely meal in the courtyard one evening.
Rating: Excellent
The food was fabulous, the room was modest yet comfortable. This was our second trip to Spain and we stayed at Paradors last time as well--we would not hesitate to do so again as we loved the combination of local cuisine, focus on art and the environment which really gave us a feel for the locality. This was the 8th parador we have stayed in.
