We toured the Alhambra the day before out stay so were able to take full advantage of the great facilities and have a relaxing day/eveningat the Parador de Granada. The rooms, service and dining facilities were excellent and we enjoyed being able to wander around the Alhambra after the crowds has gone for the day.

“The historic part of the inn is closed for renovations, but the newer room was comfortable and had a nice partial view of the Alhambra. The location is very special.
Driving to the Parador was very confusing. The signage is inadequate, but after stopping several times to ask, we figured it out.
The front desk service varied depending on the individual. Mostly it was good.”

“We stayed at the Alhambra, which we understand is the crown jewel of the paradores-and it was! Maitre di was a bit brusque with us at dinner. Seating a large group at once makes it hard to provide the level of service that we expected. Everything else was perfect! Wished we could have stayed longer, and plan to visit other paradores when we return to Spain.”

“The reason i can't put down excellent is that we had a problem the first night -the heat was not working inour room,and nothing was done aboput it that night . However,my complaint to the manager later on ,that i should not be charged the full amount for such an unpleasant night was accepted and we received a discount.The parador is beautiful ,most of the staff very pleasant and helpful,the parador restaurant excellent ,and we would gladly stay there again .”

“This was the most expensive Parador and our worst experience. Although the hotel is lovely, the staff was not concerned about the quality of our stay. We were kept upp all night by the peple next door who had a child about age 5. They came in late and the child repeatedly cried and screamed and had numerous temper tantrums. She continued this thoughout the night. I complained to the person on duty”

We thought we paid above a standard room rate to get a room with a nice view of the Alhambra. We paid approximately 385 euros per night. Our room was OK although small but we were at an end of the parador with an extremely limited view of the Alhambra -- I'm sure people further up the hall from our room (#209) had a better view of the Alhambra and might not feel they did not get what they thought they paid for. We did not ask for a room change because we had a lot of luggage and, when we experienced a small electrical problem the first night of our stay, a parador representative offered us a choice of the only other 2 rooms available and both on the first floor with no view of the Alhambra. (The problem was a failed electrical receptacle which created a mild burnimg smell which the parador repaired the next day -- we have no problem with this.)
The second problem was that there was no carpet on the hall outside our room which was located next to the elevator. Ladies with high heels walked down the hall off and on late in the evening and people with wheeled luggage left early in the morning making noise I suspect they did not even think about. I'm a fairly light sleeper and this interrupted my sleep frequently. I do not think I got the value I thought I paid for in terms of a view of the Alhambra or of being able to get a good night's sleep.”
