We added another night here we liked it so much. Awesome setting and beautiful parador--every room has a view of the Mediterranean. And the white sand beach situated at the bottom of steep steps was fantastic--we rented chairs & umbrella and spent the most relaxing day of our vacation. Very helpful staff.

The hotel accommodation was excellent and the staff were very helpful. The hotel situation is delightful and we were glad to have a spot that was not too crowded with people. The meals were very good but we found limited choice of main course at night over a stay of one week.

This was our first Parador experience and it was marvelous. The staff, the room, the services and amenities were excellent.
Didn't Like:
The website indicates "all rooms have balconies". There was no mention of "the annex". Our room was in the annex and there were no balconies. Views from windows were lovely, however, the views could only be enjoyed when standing by the window.

Great location, spectacular views, peace and quiet, yet only a stroll to a beautiful cove. The hotel was tastefully and newly appointed and our bedroom was immaculately clean, spacious and quiet. The staff were helpful and friendly and the breakfasts and dinners were excellent, with plenty of choice. We loved it and will definitely return.

This is a lovely setting and the surrounding beaches are fabulous. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was basic, but very comfortable and clean. Pool and area is lovely and the sitting areas to relax and have a drink are numerous and comfortable. Restaurant was OK overall, but there were some standouts. The melon soup is not to be missed.
Didn't Like:
WHile very well maintained, the hotel is dated. It reminded us of the '60s. Parking is a bit tight if you arrive too late in the day.

Although a bit understaffed and the food is hardly cordon bleu, the charm of staff, location and comfort make it a fantastic place to stay.

The location.
Didn't Like:
The service was not as good/friendly as the other paradors. We felt a little unwelcome - perhaps because of the children or our lack of Spanish? There was nowhere to eat between 4pm and 8.30pm - the kids were starving.

A little difficult to find, but once there spectacular views

We had such a nice time at the Parador in 2000. During this visit some of the hotel and restaurant staff seemed unhappy.

Magnificent setting. Parador in general and room in particular were very good. The staff however were curt, aloof, and generally unhelpful.

The location was wonderful. I was a bit disappointed in the location of my room. The food was very good but the staff was very unfriendly!

Location was beautiful...a bit dated. Twin beds...urggh! Staff was not helpful or friendly. We stayed in a Casa Rural in Brinas, Spain...the rooms were exquisite, less expensive, breakfast was great, staff very helpful and they offered their computers to get online! The paradors can learn from the CASA RURAL model! We felt the Paradors were not a good value and most of all your staff needs to smile more and need to be more helpful...and include the INTERNET with your room fee...give each guest a 30 minute guest pass and sign up/reservation so they can keep in touch cheaply with friends, business, etc. We also stayed in a Agriturismo in Obidos, Portugal...again, MUCH more accomodating and a better deal than GOVERNMENT run Paradors. We stayed in 4 Paradors and we don't feel we can recommend staying in them if there are CASA rural places to stay in. If we go back to Spain it'll be in CASA Rurals first and then maybe we may consider Paradors...before the hotels. It was a shame that we didn't get a sense of pride as to the beauty of these buildings and how they were restored from the staff. It was more here is your room, good bye!

Employees at reception did not speak english nor German. Very friendly service in restaurant.

Aguabrava. Wonderful site that the hotel fails to exploit well. Old fashioned decor in bar and restaurant: very dowdy. Food uninteresting in choice and flavour. Dinner no better than home cooking at its most ordinary. Breakfast awful. Rooms nice. Staff very nice and welcoming, efficinet.

The room was very lovely, BUT we were on a level where we could not have our curtains open for the view outside as people walking along the hotel, or parking their car at the side could see directly in our room. Not exactly a romantic room. The room was very clean. The staff behind the reception were not that good. The restaurant and bar staff were very good.

Accommodation absolutely fine, but not the restaurant (dinner). No atmosphere, far too brightly lit, staff overworked and sloppy. Flavours, sauces, etc., imbalanced, and dishes poorly prepared. Far better meals experienced elsewhere in Begur and surroundings.
