Everything. As had occurred in Hondarribia, the room waiting for us was NOT what I expected, based on my internet booking. The front desk staff apologized, admitted that there are very often such mistakes, and cheerfully upgraded us, without charge, to a superior room with an excellent view and at the end of the corridor where it was VERY private and quiet. On more than occasion, we were assisted by Front Desk Attendant, Raphael/Rafael, who did everything he could to assure our stay was outstanding and memorable. All but one staff member in the property was pleasant, cheerful, helpful and appeared to want to make our stay "home away from home." Avila was SUCH a breath of fresh air after our highly disappointing stay at Hondarribia.

“You have a particularly excellent person at Avila. We couldn't find any parking she ran ouside, found a place to park up the street and stood in the spot untill we could get there she was great! I wish I could remember her name, but she was studying English at the time and I saw her be very helpfull to other guests at your Parador. She seemed to be a senior staff member (even though she was quite young)and a credit to your establishment.”
